Industrial Waste Recycling Case Site in Shenyang, China

Shenyang, located in the northeast of China, is an industrial center and recently finished a large scale waste recycling operation at a large production facility. One of the company’s longstanding challenges was with the management of industrial byproducts and mixed scrap. To address this, they implemented a comprehensive shredding and separation system tailored to the various waste streams. This resulted in a process that is more efficient, safe, and recovers more materials.

Managing Real Operational Challenges

Thousands of tons of industrial waste are generated annually at the Shenyang facility. This includes, metal frames, plastic containers, packaging, and residue from machining processes, as well as mixed waste from machining.

Solutions were required to be able to process large, bulky components, smaller waste fractions, and eliminate the need for manual shredding to facilitate a better recycling process. After reviewing different options, the customer selected a configuration for two-stage shredding with the inclusion of coarse and fine shredding processes.

Solution Design: Fine and Coarse Shredding

The first step for our team was to examine the facility’s daily throughput and material mix. Using the results from this evaluation, a customized solution was designed that emphasized two shredding stages.

The first stage of processing uses an industrial waste shredder to break down large and irregular chunks of industrial waste. This system is designed to manage irregular and thick industrial waste with its strong drive system, heavy-duty cutters, and reinforced housing. Besides managing large bulky waste, it also prepares them for further processing. The design is made to ensure high torque at lower speeds, which is optimal for safety and reduces equipment wear.

After the waste materials have gone through the coarse shredding, they move to the second stage, which is a shredding system that does fine shredding. This system reduces the size of materials to a uniform and marketable specification. The fine shredder is also helpful for separating mixed materials and shredding downstream. Even if there are mixed plastics, metals, and composite materials, the fine shredder system supports consistent output and steady feed rates.

The two stages of shredding creates an effective recycling workflow that is capable of going from bulky waste to usable fractions.

Implementation and On-Site Installation

Upon completion of design, our engineers worked hand in hand with the customer’s team to ready the site. Due to the limited floor space at Shenyang’s facility, meticulous layout planning was needed. The setup incorporated feeder conveyors, the coarse industrial waste shredder, the fine shredder, plus auxiliary systems like dust control and discharge conveyors.

The whole installation process took ten working days and this was inclusive of mechanical adjustments and alignment checks. Our engineers made certain that all systems were compliant with the layout and that all power connections were in accordance with the local electrical standards. During setup, some structural elements required conveyors to be modified to change the aligned height. These modifications were done at no extra charge and with no delays.

Commissioning and Performance Verification

After mechanical assembly, the line entered the commissioning phase. Each unit was tested independently, followed by full-system testing with actual waste materials. Coarse shredding showed steady throughput, and the fine shredder delivered consistent output size. Operators noted the smooth transition between stages and the stable torque performance of both shredders.

The industrial waste shredder demonstrated reliable operation across various materials, including thick metal frames and rigid plastics. Its torque control and cutter geometry reduced the risk of blockages. The fine shredder completed the size reduction with uniform particle distribution. Dust control systems remained effective throughout the testing process.

Operators were trained on machine operation, safety protocols, and basic maintenance tasks. Clear instructions were provided for regular blade inspection, lubrication schedules, and emergency procedures. The training helped the customer’s team gain confidence in daily operation.

Customer Feedback

The customer has expressed satisfaction with both the design and implementation process. They appreciate the professional approach to solving complex material handling challenges. From product dimensioning to practical application, the solution delivered measurable improvement in performance.

The company also noted that equipment reliability reduced unexpected downtime. Regular operation has shown that the two-stage shredding line can handle daily fluctuations in waste types without performance loss.

Conclusion

The industrial waste recycling case in Shenyang demonstrates how a well-designed solution can turn complex waste streams into valuable, marketable output. By combining a coarse industrial waste shredder with a fine shredding stage, the facility improved throughput, enhanced safety, and reduced labor intensity. This case highlights the value of practical engineering, clear communication, and tailored solutions in modern recycling applications.

The project’s success shows that reliable shredding infrastructure is essential for effective industrial waste management. As the recycling industry continues to evolve, integrated solutions like this one will play a key role in supporting sustainable operations and resource recovery.
